Full details

This laboratory offers an opportunity to explore artistic practice, teaching approaches, and creative work with the mature body. Whether you are looking to deepen your movement practice or expand your pedagogical approach, these intensives offer a rare opportunity to work closely with one of the leading voices in artistic practice with mature dancers. The GILA language is an artistic and choreographic language that explores the performative presence of the mature body through its physiological aesthetics. The language has developed over many years of choreographic and creative work with women in later life. The workshop turns its attention to the body of the present - to the embodied knowledge accumulated over the years, and to the physiological aesthetics shaped by time. Through poetic-somatic research, improvisation and work with imagery, we will explore the presence of the mature body in space, expand its movement possibilities, and discover its unique physical, imagistic and performative qualities. Please include this wording in the text - Fee: Dancer's contribution is £200 for 4-days intensive workshops with Galit Liss. Dancers need to cover their own travel, accommodation and expenses. Thank you
