Home D&J Lloyd Community First Fund Overview This fund offers grants of £2,500, on average, to provide support and relief to those in need, to promote the arts, to protect the environment, and to promote education. This Fund awards an average of £8,760 per funding round deadline (two per year). Who can apply? Non-profit organisations Maximum grant No maximum grant size, but an average grant value of £2,500 Eligible area Cambridgeshire Deadlines 1 May, 1 November Fund criteria The D&J Lloyd Community First Fund offer grants to support voluntary and community organisations working in Cambridgeshire to: • Provide support and relief to those that are in need, particularly those suffering financial hardship, illness, social isolation, homelessness or negative effects of old age. • Promote the arts, particularly but not exclusively to help those at a disadvantage to take part in arts activities. • Protect the environment and/or sites and buildings of historic or architectural importance. • Promote learning, skills development and education (excluding areas of statutory responsibility) to those that are marginalised or excluded from society. Examples of funded projects The Froglife Trust received £2,000 to continue the Green Pathways scheme, an outdoor therapy project to help 200 vulnerable and disadvantaged young people to take part in positive activities linked to wildlife and conservation in their local community. Acting Now CIC received £3,000 to run a theatre project with 12 young woman to reduce their risk of social isolation by improving well-being and self esteem. Wintercomfort received £2,500 to continue and increase the number of job workshops, which helped 120 homeless people get back into work.
