Who can apply
Organisations we can fund You can apply if your organisation is a: • constituted voluntary or community organisation • constituted group or club • registered charity • Scottish charitable incorporated organisation (SCIO) • not-for-profit company • community interest company (CIC) • community benefit society Your organisation should: • have a clear social purpose that benefits a community • have open membership, so people in the community can get involved • be led by a board or committee, mostly made up of people from your community These points should be written into your governing document, the formal record that sets out your organisation’s rules and structure. If your organisation is different If you don’t meet all the criteria but feel your organisation still represents your community, we’d still like to hear from you. Board or committee requirements You need at least 3 board or committee members who are not related. If you're a company (including companies registered as charities), you must have at least 3 directors who are not related. We consider people to be related if they: • are married or in a civil partnership • are in a long-term relationship • live together at the same address • are related by blood • are related through a long-term partner We fund organisations of all sizes and experience We support organisations of different sizes and levels of experience. We’ll discuss with you the amount of funding you can apply for and for how long when you get in touch. If you already have funding from us If you already have funding from: • Community Led • Improving Lives, or • Cost of Living Support Scotland Contact us around 6 months before your funding ends to discuss applying.

• Project location: Scotland • Amount: £20,001 to £250,000 • A decision in: 12 weeks • Programme status: Open to applications This funding is for communities in Scotland. We're looking for projects that will help people connect more with each other. We'll support projects that are open, inclusive and led by their community. By community, we mean people who share something in common, such as their background, where they live, or a shared experience. What you need to show us In your application, you’ll need to show how you’ll: • bring people together – through an activity or a space, online or in person • reach and support people affected by poverty, disadvantage or discrimination • be led by your community. This means that people from your community lead on the project idea, planning and decisions • build on the strengths, skills and experience already in your community • understand services and activities available, and show how your project fills a gap Your project must meet at least 2 of these outcomes: • build positive relationships • support people’s health or wellbeing • help people improve their access and connection to nature • make a positive difference to the environment You can aim for more than 2 outcomes, but doing more will not increase your chances of getting funding. How much you can apply for We fund new or existing projects, from organisations of all sizes and levels of experience. You can apply for £20,001 to £250,000 for up to 5 years. If your organisation has not had long-term funding before (2 years or more), we’re unlikely to offer more than £100,000 in total. We’ll discuss the length and amount of funding you can apply for when you get in touch.
