Summary

Funding for VCSE organisations in Northern Ireland, from the Dormant Assets Scheme, to help them grow stronger and face future challenges.

Who can apply

To apply, you must be a constituted voluntary, community or social enterprise (VCSE) organisation that has been operating for at least 2 years. This includes: • unregistered voluntary or community organisations – set up with a governing document, such as a constitution, but not registered as a charity or company • not-for-profit companies – companies limited by guarantee and registered with Companies House with a profit or asset lock clause, which may also be registered as a charity • registered charities (unincorporated) – charities that are not companies registered with Companies House • community interest companies (CICs) – registered with Companies House and the CIC Regulator Board or committee member requirements To apply, your organisation must have at least 2 board or committee members who are not related. If you are a company, you must have at least 2 directors who are not related. We consider people to be related if they: • are married or in a civil partnership • are in a long-term relationship • are related by blood or through a partner • live at the same address If you’ve had funding before You can apply if you have had other funding from us before. We can fund new projects, work that builds on a previous project, or an existing project.

It helps organisations to: • build skills and capacity • be more resilient • prepare for future challenges Make sure you check that your organisation is based in Northern Ireland. Only organisations with a registered office base in Northern Ireland are eligible for funding. We fund projects that strengthen your organisation This might include improving: • confidence and skills in digital technology • how you track and measure your impact • financial management • governance and leadership • volunteer recruitment and management We’ll only fund work that makes your organisation stronger We do not fund the delivery of activities in your community. For example, we cannot fund expanding an existing service into new areas. How much funding you can apply for You can apply for between £300 and £20,000 to run projects that last up to 2 years. Where this funding comes from This funding comes from the Dormant Assets Scheme. It is money from financial accounts that have not been used in over 15 years. It does not come from The National Lottery. Already got funding You must use the Dormant Assets NI logo on your website, social media and any printed materials. Dormant Assets logo
