The Scottish Land Fund helps communities across Scotland become stronger and more sustainable by supporting them to own and manage land and buildings
Who can apply
To start the application process, you must be a community-led, community-controlled organisation based in a defined geographical area in Scotland. These organisations are eligible to apply for stage 1 funding: • voluntary organisations • social enterprises • community councils Your project must clearly benefit your local community. There are different requirements at stage 2, you can get advice on this during the application process.

• Project location: Scotland • Amount: £5,000 to £1,000,000 • A decision in: 16 weeks • Programme status: Open to applications The Scottish Land Fund helps urban and rural communities across Scotland become stronger and more sustainable. It does this by helping communities own and manage land and buildings that matter to them. We offer community-led organisations grants of between £5,000 and £1 million to buy land or assets. We also provide practical support to help develop ideas into viable, long-term projects. The fund is backed by the Scottish Government and delivered in partnership by The National Lottery Community Fund and Highlands and Islands Enterprise. What we fund • the purchase of land or land assets • support to help you plan and develop your ideas You’ll work with a Scottish Land Fund Adviser at Highlands and Islands Enterprise to help shape your project and explore your options before applying. What we’re looking for We’ll prioritise projects that can show a clear and lasting benefit to the wider community. Successful projects will aim to: • support economic, environmental or social development through land ownership • give the community more control over its future • own land and buildings that are well managed and financially sustainable You can download our logo to show that your project is funded by Scottish Land Fund (PNG image, 164 KB).
