This funding helps community groups in Wales take action on climate change, live more sustainably, or kick-start new ideas.
Who can apply
You can apply for this funding if your group: • has received mentoring from the Egin programme • has completed an action plan Organisation types that can apply Your organisation must be one of the following: • a registered charity • a voluntary or community organisation • a charitable incorporated organisation (CIO) • a co-operative society with a not-for-profit clause • a company limited by guarantee with a not-for-profit clause • a community interest company (CIC) • a community benefit society • an unregistered voluntary or community organisation • a town or community council (with strong support from the local community) • a school (if the project involves and benefits the wider community) • a faith-based group Partnerships can apply We welcome applications from partnerships. But the lead organisation must be one of the types listed above. What your organisation needs in place To apply, your organisation must also: • have at least two people who are not related on your board or committee • have a UK bank or building society account in your organisation’s name, with at least two unrelated people who manage the account What we mean by ‘related’ We consider people to be related if they: • are married or in a civil partnership • are in a long-term relationship or live together • are related by blood or through a partner • live at the same address

• Project location: Wales • Amount: £100 to £35,000 • A decision in: 4 weeks • Programme status: Open to applications This funding supports community groups in Wales that are taking action on climate change and aiming to live more sustainably, or helping them kick-start their ideas. To apply, your group must have received support from the Egin mentoring programme. The main aim of your project should be to help your community engage with climate change and take steps to live more sustainably. We aim to fund groups that consider the impact of their activities on nature and, where possible, limit any potentially damaging practices. We’re also interested in other benefits your project could bring. These might include: • improving people’s wellbeing • improving relationships between people and organisations • improving biodiversity We want to fund organisations that are open to learning and plan to share what they’ve learnt with others.
