Festivals / stages

Thousands of strangers. One frequency.

A festival crowd hasn't chosen your room — you have minutes to give them a reason to stay. Open format is built for that fight.

Festival sets compress everything DJing is into an hour: win the crowd, hold the crowd, hand the crowd on. The open-format approach earns its place here — when a tent is drifting, the next lane pulls them back; when the field is locked, one blend lifts it another level. BDJ builds festival sets with the arc of the whole day in mind: who plays before, who follows, and what the slot needs to do for the stage.

Programmers get a set that respects the bill. Day parties, takeovers and festival club stages all get the same treatment: a professional who arrives on schedule, works with stage managers without friction, keeps changeovers tight, and treats a 2pm opening slot with the same seriousness as a headline hour.

02What the night gets

  • Stage, tent and day-party sets shaped to the slot
  • Crowd-winning opens; peak sets that hold a field
  • Tight changeovers and easy stage-management relations
  • UK festival season and international dates
  • Press kit, photos and set recordings for programmers

03How it works

  1. The slotStage, time and the shape of the bill around it — a set is designed for its hour, not in a vacuum.
  2. AdvanceTech spec, changeover and stage plot confirmed with production in advance, not at load-in.
  3. The hourWin them early, build the middle, hand the stage over hotter than it was found.

04Asked before booking

What does BDJ need on a festival stage?
The standard: CDJs and a mixer on a stable riser, monitoring, and a stage manager to nod at. The tech rider is short and confirmed in advance so changeover is minutes, not drama.
Can you open a stage as well as play peak slots?
Yes, and openers are a craft in themselves: build a field from nothing without spending the records the peak needs. Every slot on the bill is taken seriously.
Do you play day parties and takeovers?
Regularly — day parties, brand takeovers and festival club stages all sit naturally in the calendar alongside main-programme slots.
Are set recordings available for programmers?
Yes — full sets live on YouTube, SoundCloud and Mixcloud, and the press kit with photos is downloadable from the homepage for print and screens.
