The Sound

Open format isn't 'a bit of everything' — it's knowing how genres connect, and moving between them so a floor never notices the joins.

Afrobeats

The backbone of a lot of my sets right now. Afrobeats carries energy and melody that crosses over to almost any crowd, and it bridges beautifully into amapiano and dancehall.

Amapiano

The South African sound that's taken over floors worldwide — log-drum basslines and rolling percussion that build slow and hit hard. A brilliant tool for lifting a room.

R&B & Soul

Where a lot of nights begin. 90s and 00s R&B and classic soul set a warm, familiar tone early on and give a set emotional range, not just energy.

Hip Hop

Across eras — golden-era, 2010s and current. Hip hop is the connective tissue of an open-format set and reads across generations.

Dancehall & Bashment

Riddims that move a floor instantly. Dancehall brings swagger and call-and-response energy that London crowds in particular grew up on.

House

From soulful and afro house to UK club sounds — house is where a late set opens up and keeps people dancing past the point they planned to leave.

UK Garage

A homegrown sound with serious nostalgia and serious bounce. Used well, garage is one of the biggest reactions you can get from a UK floor.
